How I Made this Home Renovation Project in Texas

Сomplete process of creating an interactive project

In this detailed video, I take viewers through the entire process of the interactive home renovation project in Texas. I provide a comprehensive overview of each stage, sharing the challenges I faced and the solutions I implemented along the way. From the initial 3D scanning using the Polycam app to capture the house’s facade, rooms, backyard, and terrain, to building a 3D model with new designs based on the scans, I cover it all.

I emphasize the importance of optimizing performance in Unreal Engine by reducing the number of Draw Calls through object duplication and merging. The video showcases examples and statistics illustrating the impact of different approaches on Draw Calls and FPS. I also explores the importance of lighting and demonstrates how to address light artifacts and improve overall lighting quality using techniques such as surface cache coverage, adjusting exposure settings, and utilizing the Lumen Scene mode.

The video highlights the use of Megascans presets for materials and the creation of grass procedural materials using Parallax Occlusion Mapping. I also showcases the extensive library of Megascans assets available for creating immersive environments. I provide insights into working with dynamic lights, optimizing performance with point lights, spotlights, and attenuation radius settings, and effectively dividing the scene into interior and exterior parts to enhance FPS.

Additional features demonstrated include furniture replacement options, a streamlined main menu with pre-configured graphics options, Blueprint functionality for automatic door opening and closing, zoom, and high-resolution screenshots. I also shares their cinematic animation techniques for project presentations using Level Sequence and video editing in Davinci Resolve.
